HISTORY |
This building, built in 1890, was owned and operated by the Haynes
family. It was a tavern and inn. In the early days of North East, only
the most prominent and wealthy citizens could afford to own such a
business as an inn. Inns were very important in the settling of the town,
as they offered temporary accommodations for people traveling in search
of land to settle. |
